Outrageous Aurora Opal opulence

A new year, and new designs with it!! Now that these have made it to their intended recipients, I can freely share them with all of you. A very large, very special gem is the star of this piece, a gorgeous, layered Aurora opal Doublet. It also hides a secret, when exposed to bright light, or blacklight, the glowing hidden image emerges from behind the opal. This particular piece was made for my brother, since Nightmare before Christmas is one of his all time favorite things. The huge cabochon is wreathed with a fine silver bezel of spiderweb filligree, and further enhanced with a smaller secondary beaded bezel. The whole thing is soldered on an extremely solid 18ga sterling silver base. This particular pendant was a special for my sib, but similar others could be made, if you're interested in this design. There are plenty more options for images, and every opal is unique, and has different color and style. No two pieces are the same.
