Heart of Stone

My final drop for Valentines Day 2024, my shining star, the Heart of stone. We've all been there, heartache, loss, dispair. From failed relationships, death, betrayal, and myriad other causes. Every time, we swear it's the last time, and harden our hearts, to protect ourselves. This design is a physical manifestation of that feeling. A custom cut, black onyx heart, darkly glitters in the light. Sharp, rose cutting emphasizes the hard shell we've created around ourselves. Further fortifications, by way of a large spiked fence surrounds the heart, in tight, intricate sterling silver bondage, echoed in the smaller secondary beaded ring. And to really finish it, the whole piece is a lock, riveted, and solid, hung on a stout sterling chain, to make sure we can never be hurt again. However, like getting to really know someone new, turn it over, and you'll see a way in, by way of a hand sawed keyhole. Hope springs eternal, and as jaded as we all are, we still want to be loved.
